On the outskirts of Greater Johannesburg ± 30 minutes from the old city Centre and on the Klein Jukskei River, stands this prominent four-storied Castle on 5 Ha (12 acres), providing accommodation for a maximum of 13 people sharing .  The main building is of late 17th Century architectural style.

Chartwell Castle

We are located in tranquil Chartwell West, yet close to the main roads, shopping malls (Fourways Mall, Fourways Crossing, Broadacres Garden Centre, Cedar Square), Monte Casino, The Lion Park, Lanseria Airport, and the brand new Fourways Hospital. We are within easy driving distance from O. R. Tambo International Airport, Ellis Park Stadium, and Soccer City Stadium.

Our guest house is very spacious and peaceful, with a beautiful garden and swimming pool. We have the biggest known uninterrupted hedgerow maze in the Southern world (and the third biggest in the world), boasting more than 900 conifers. It covers about 6000 sq.m. (approximately 1.5 acres), which is about 5 times bigger than The Hampton Court Maze. We have five suites with private bathrooms and under-floor heating, sleeping a total of 13 guests. They are all bright and spacious, with traditional country décor.

We speak English, Afrikaans, and German.

Breakfast is served between 7:00 and 9:00 am, but if you wish to eat earlier, please let us know. We wish you a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!
